Terms of Service

By using Hoofiness or Hoofiness Livery you agree to these terms. They are written to be readable, not to catch you out.

Who can use Hoofiness

You need to be at least 13 to have an account. If you are under 16 — or under the age of digital consent where you live — please ask a parent or guardian first. Under 18, you will also need the bill payer's permission before starting a paid plan.

Not veterinary advice

Hoofiness is a record-keeping tool, not a veterinary service. Nothing in it describes what your horse needs. Decisions about treatment, medication and dosing, shoeing intervals, dental work and worming belong with your vet, farrier, dentist or SQP. In an emergency, call your vet or an out-of-hours practice — not an app.

Competition eligibility and legal records

Hoofiness records the dates and documents you enter. It does not certify them. Whether a horse is eligible to compete is determined by the affiliating body and the passport, not by this app, and an equine passport remains a legal document you must keep and produce as required. Check anything that matters against the passport and the rules of the body you are entered with.

Reminders

Hoofiness schedules reminders on your device from the dates you enter. They depend on your phone's operating system, notification settings and battery rules, so they are a helpful prompt and not a guarantee. Please do not rely on them alone for anything critical.

Your account and the people you share with

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity on your account. If you share a horse, you are responsible for who you share it with and what access you give them. People you share with can see the areas you granted; those with logging permission can add to the record. They cannot rewrite what you wrote.

Livery yards

A yard using Hoofiness Livery is responsible for the accuracy of what its staff record and for who it gives access to. Hoofiness Livery may generate invoices carrying your yard's own payment details; your customers pay you directly, and we are not a party to that transaction, do not hold the funds, and are not responsible for collecting them. Whether an invoice meets your VAT and record-keeping obligations remains your responsibility.

Your data

Your horses' records are yours. Hoofiness stores them on your phone first and — if you are signed in on a paid plan — syncs them to the people you share with. See our Privacy Policy for how that works, and Delete your account for how to remove it.

Subscriptions

Paid plans, when they launch, renew automatically until cancelled and are billed through the App Store or Google Play under their terms. You can cancel at any time and access continues to the end of the billing period. If a paid plan lapses, the app keeps working on one device and you keep every record you made — memorial profiles and the memory book stay free regardless.

Fair use of AI features

Reading a vaccination card or vet letter costs us money each time it runs. Where a plan describes it as unlimited, that means unlimited for normal personal use, subject to a fair-use policy: we apply reasonable limits to prevent abuse, automated or bulk use, and usage far beyond a typical individual or yard. These limits can change as we tune the service.

Acceptable use

Do not abuse the service, reverse-engineer it, attempt to extract API keys or tokens, automate or resell access, or use it to harm others. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Liability

Hoofiness is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will notify you of material changes by email.
